Position: Analyst, Hydrogen & Low-Carbon Gas

S&P Global is looking to recruit a high-caliber analyst with a deep interest in the future evolution of the global energy sector to lead our coverage of hydrogen and low-carbon gas in North America. The role will be based in New York, Washington DC, or Boston.

The Team:

This role sits at the core of the global hydrogen and renewable gas team which delivers regular retainer services to a wide client base from across the hydrogen value chain. The team is part of the Global Gas, Power, and Climate Solutions research group that allows S&P Global to deliver unrivaled insights into the future direction of global energy markets.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Lead research on North America's low-carbon hydrogen- and hydrogen derivatives-related policies and market development.
  • Analyze low-carbon hydrogen and renewable gas demand and supply developing critical insights on market trends, policy direction, and company-level strategies.
  • Generate original research ideas that feed into S&P Global retainer service and continue to build our reputation as a thought leader in low-carbon gases.
  • Deliver insights through written reports and presentations at company and industry events and one-on-one sessions with clients.
  • Work with other members of the Global Gas, Power and Climate Solutions team to develop long-term outlooks for the demand, supply, and cost of renewable gases.
  • Work closely with Commercial and Marketing colleagues to generate business opportunities for S&P Global Gas, Power and Climate Solutions products and services.
  • Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

    S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $120,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.

    What We're Looking For:

    Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant areas including economics, business, and engineering. Preference given to advanced degree holders.
  • At least five years of experience in gas/power/renewables/hydrogen industry through employment with a gas/power utility, generator/supplier, equipment and service company, financial investor, and/or an energy consultancy.
  • A strong desire to establish oneself as a thought leader and the ability to establish a wide network in the energy sector.
  • Experience in writing succinct reports and effectively presenting research and consulting deliverables to a professional energy audience.
  • Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of hydrogen production technologies and/or new applications including power generation, transport sector, and manufacturing activities.
  • Knowledge of operation of gas value chain, sector coupling and related energy policies.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel for modeling and data analysis.
  • Right to Work Requirements: This role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
