Analyst at Sachem Head Capital Management LP in New York, NY.Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from Sachem Head Capital Management LP office in New York, NY.Job Duties: Collect macroeconomic and microeconomic data including employment and labor force participation data, central bank balance sheet data, interest rates and expected inflation, yields on credit card and auto loan ABS indices, historical and projected. Use methodologies of treating collected data including identifying and removing outliers, using interpolation and extrapolation techniques to fill data gaps, and detrending the data of seasonal effects. Conduct macroeconomic research and analyze time series data of aggregated indicators to determine how different aspects of the macro economy relate to each other. Analyze how central bank policy rate and balance sheet size over time relates to global asset prices, how total retail sales and total consumption relate to nominal gross domestic product in different geographies, and how unemployment and labor force participation relate to aggregate economic output. Conduct microeconomic research and analyze collected data on individuals and firms with the aim of understanding the relationships between supply and demand. Compile price and volume data of goods in various industries and geographies, conduct channel checks and interviews with suppliers, performing field research to gauge supply conditions, surveying individuals for panel data to determine consumer expectations, and investigating responses of individuals to price changes to goods and services to determine their price elasticity of demand. Use methodologies of analyzing microeconomic data including panel regression, sampling of data sets, estimating standard deviations and confidence intervals, and visualizing shifts in supply and demand curves.Salary: $150,000-$200,000/yearWork Schedule: 9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week. (Monday - Friday)Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Economics or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in analyst or associate positions within the financial service industry. Must have one (1) year of experience with: merchant banking or investment banking with a focus on advising and investing in family-controlled enterprises; presenting investment recommendations to senior firm management, investment committee and preparing investment memos and presentations that articulate the potential risks and returns of such investments; evaluating potential large cap investments and managing add-on acquisitions for portfolio companies; advising and investing in healthcare information technology (IT), specialty packaging, industrials, infrastructure, and professional sports industries; analyzing and evaluating alternative investment structures, including structure equity, preferred equity with equity participation rights, and convertible preferred equity and presenting findings to senior firm management and investment committee; analyzing company management compensation structure and evaluating management and shareholder alignment; working with target company management team and board of directors to execute operational, commercial, and financial value creation initiatives through detailed financial modeling of revenue and cost structure drivers, development of implementation plans, and executing credit agreement amendments with institutional lenders; and performing extensive business due diligence, including interviewing senior management, conducting on-site facility visits, reviewing strategic operating plans, and analyzing historical and projected financial performance.Qualified Applicants: Email resumes to careerssachemhead.com and reference the job code 3278.
