Role Overview

We are looking for an Analytical Chemical Technician to join our Advanced Materials and Chemicals division in Rochester, NY.

The successful candidate will play an active role in Kodak's industrial analytical laboratory which supports chemical manufacturing and new product commercializations in Rochester, NY. In this role, the candidate will work in a laboratory setting, both developing and executing analytical tests either for materials undergoing commercialization or for currently manufactured materials used in diverse markets including imaging, pharmaceutical and energy storage. The candidate must be a dynamic, self-starting, and results-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams.

Responsibilities:

* Operation and maintenance of LC, LC-MS and GC, GC-MS instrumentation.

* Proficiency in use and maintenance of Agilent Open Lab software.

* Interact and collaborate with a wide verity of clients, colleagues, project team members, and other lab personnel.

* Train laboratory personnel in LC technologies.

* Support the R&D analysis lab within the company for problem-solving assistance and troubleshooting instrumentation and techniques.

* Document methods developed for new materials being commercialized within the division.

* Implement external customer analytical methodologies for materials being manufactured for external clients.

* Author and manage laboratory SOPs required for ISO 9001:2015 certification

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in chemistry with a minimum of 2-years of experience in an analytical lab.

* Must have expertise in High Performance Chromatography, both in theory and practical operation.

* Experience in wet-chemistry techniques.

* Demonstrated ability and desire to quickly learn new analytical techniques and skills.

* Must be a self-starter.

* Must be agile with a demonstrated ability to move rapidly from one task to another.

* Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for samples and instrumentation.

* Possess excellent documentation and communication skills.

* Possess excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment.

* Possess the ability to troubleshoot instrument performance issues.

* Comfortable with basic statistics and using Excel spreadsheets for data reduction, math

functions, and making graphs.
