Angel Tree Warehouse Worker - The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory : Job Details

Location: The Salvation Army - New Bern, NC Position Type: Regular Part Time/Hourly Pay Range: $10/hr About this Opportunity: This position is responsible for receiving, sorting, recording and preparing donated items for the Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Program. Key responsibilities:

• Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse.
• Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse.
• Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.
• Pick up trash, empty garbage container, and remove all trash to area for disposal.
• Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
• Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.
• Assist with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations.
• Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
• Assists in cleaning and maintaining the Christmas warehouse and loading dock area.
• Assists in working in all areas of the Christmas warehouse operations as needed.
• Performs special projects as needed.
• Performs other related work as required.

What we are looking for in you: High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required.

• Friendly personality.
• Must have physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from truck and in warehouse.
• Must be able to work independently and must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call weekends.
• Must be organized.
• Job requires considerable physical effort and may entail some pressure and fatigue.
• Proactive demeanor and willingness to work with individuals of various backgrounds and ages.

Work is performed in a store and warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Employee Benefits:
