**Responsibilities**
The Coordinator works collaboratively with the Manager to carry out daily operations of the Animal-Assisted Services department. This role is responsible for conducting or assisting with qualified animal handler team recruitment, evaluation, orientation, training, coordinating, scheduling, and retention of animal handler teams. Will maintain animal handler team files, office supplies, and other office needs as assigned. Assists with developing and curating engaging animal-related content for social media. Provide back-up support for animal-assisted services research or education projects as needed.
Additionally, they will coordinate with the Volunteer Services team for creation of reports as needed to track volunteer placement statistics, hours served, number of human-animal interactions/visits, and number of active volunteers.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required: (Education Requirements and Experience): Associates degree in Health Services, Human Resources, Animal Science and/or Ethology, or related field required. Three years in health field, animal welfare or animal training experience required.
Additional Experience and/or Qualifications: (Has Achieved Competency in the Following Areas, Job Knowledge and Additional Considerations): Certificate coursework in Animal-Assisted Interventions and/or CPDT/CBCC certification preferred.
Licensure/Certification Required: Animal-Assisted Intervention Specialist Certification required.
