Animal Care Technician II - U W-MADISON-DAIRY FORAGE : Job Details

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Animal Care Tech. Duties will include milking, moving cattle to parlor, and feeding cows. Other duties may include calf care, cleaning, handling, and general care of the dairy cattle in an efficient and accurate manner. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment.
