This position ensures that the correct material is cut into the right pattern utilizing the requirements given by Peckham and Peckhams customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Demonstrate proficiency in the cutting process Ability to troubleshoot problems during the cutting process Other related duties as assigned ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other related duties as assigned See essential duties. QUALIFICATIONS To perform any of these jobs successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities between words and between a series of numbers. Ability to write legibly . : Ability to read and interpret documents such as pallet sheet and pallet identification forms, labels, and label verification documents. Ability to complete an accurate and legible log of information. Cutting Machine Operator and Spreading Machine Operator : Ability to read two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between English language words and between a series of numbers. Ability to write legibly and communicate effectively with others. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Scanner/Packager : Ability to calculate figures such as proportions, percentages and volume. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. : Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to u nderstand numerical order as specifically related to dates and production numbers. REASONING ABILITY Ability to carry out instructions provided. : Ability to solve practical problems and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form in English. Have problem solving ability. Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to memorize garment number/descriptions . Must understand how to appropriately prioritize tasks. : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively to others. The employee is required to frequently stand, walk , and use hands and fingers to manipulate fabric. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lif t and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to frequently stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to manipulate fabric. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly life and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk, use hand s and fingers to manipulate fabric , and communicate effectively to others. The employee is required to frequently sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. The employee required to use hand jack/ motor jack to move pallets around as needed. : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, us ing hands and fingers to manipulate fabric . The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Additionally, a Cut Component / Dye Cut Operator is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts while performing the duties of th e job. Must have access to reliable transportation and background check is required. Cell phone is not allowed while working. Additionally, all positions may move to other work areas as business requires.
