About the Role: We are seeking an experienced customer-oriented Field Application Engineer to join Performance Solutions, supporting our industrial filtration business in North America and Canada. This associate will be a growth-minded, positive, outgoing person who believes in their ability to solve problems and is energized by exceeding customer expectations. In this role, you will provide technical support to our sales team in core markets like Steel, Lead, and Ferro Silica and be part of a team supporting fast-paced revenue growth.This position will be located at our Fair Hill facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.Pay and Benefits:* $95,000 - $139,000 per year* Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.* Factors considered in extending an offer within this pay range include (but not limited to) education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.* Medical, Dental and Vision benefits effective on Day 1 of employment! More details are available at www.gore.com/careers/benefits (Responsibilities:* Support the sales team in strategic selling as the application expert* Ensure the application requirements are aligned with existing product performance specifications and validate that products meet fitness-for-use based on customer application requirements* Address customers technical and quality issues* Identify unmet needs and communicate to technical teams to support product development* Share application insights, competitive options, and competitive technology with business and technical teams to assess Gore's product positioning and value proposition* Partner with Application Engineers in other regions to support global customers and product development efforts* Together with the respective Product Specialists and Managers, influence and integrate with the Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to meet customer and market expectations for quality, lead time and cost* Help to align and drive expectations between customers, sales, technical and manufacturing for product and company performance* Provide on-site surveys for design of bags in new applications and for monitoring of installed bag performance* Provide on-site installation supervision of new or replacement installations as well as support for system optimizationRequired Qualifications:* B. S. degree in science/engineering (mechanical engineer preferred) and a minimum 5 years in plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or technical field support* Experience working with plant personnel (i.e. maintenance, production, procurement, and plant manager)* Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, identify and address root cause of technical issues, while recognizing when application requirements may not be met by existing products* Ability to extract application requirements and translate into product specifications* Strong interpersonal skills including effective communication with customers, leading the discussion at times and communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience* Proficient planning, organizing and prioritization skills to manage urgent customer needs and longer-term projects* Must participate in annual hearing, heavy metals, and respirator fit testing* Ability to travel 50% in the Americas and Canada* Ability to work nights/weekends as needed to support customer needsHybrid Working Arrangements are permitted for Associates in the continental United States (US) and Canada, with appropriate approval and compliance with Gore's hybrid working policies, from the country in which they are employed.What We Offer: Our success is based on the capability and creativity of our Associates, and we are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards program that supports your everyday and helps you build your tomorrow.We provide benefits that offer choice and flexibility and promote overall well-being.
