Position Summary:Under the leadership of the Director, Information Technology, the Physician Engagement Applications Analyst is an active member of the Information Technology (IT) team that works to determine the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of the department andCRHS. The Physician Engagement Applications Analyst is responsible for the analysis, evaluation, development, implementation, support, updating and integrity of applications that provide customized reports, and other programs for Physicians and APPs. In addition, the Physician Engagement Applications Analyst is responsible for completion of routine day-to-day processes for the information systems as well as other interfaced and/or associated systems. The Physician Engagement Applications Analyst is responsible for training, supporting, and optimizing workflows for Physicians and APPs. Possesses IT skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Nursing, Business, Systems, or related field or Five (5) years healthcare financial or clinical experience
  • Two (2) years healthcare financial, clinical systems, or training experience (with B.S. Degree)
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Trains new providers and provides continuing education.
  • Conduct needs assessment with the medical staff related to application software uses and expectations.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Information Technology department and the Physician community building strong relationships with Physicians, APP's and leaders.
  • Monitors provider efficiency within the various clinical and non-clinical systems and identifies optimization opportunities.
  • Develops training materials and guides.
  • Creates and follows standardized processes for onboarding new providers to include access setup, education and elbow-to-elbow support.
  • Rounds on all staff physicians and APPs on a regular basis
  • Evaluates software alternatives based on assessed needs and recommends best alternative for use of clinical and other system applications (e.g., electronic charting and practice management software).
  • Uses technology to optimize and enhance provider workflows and processes.
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of clinical and financial systems and processes.
  • Completes end-user work requests in an efficient and timely manner including entering SRs, communicating status updates to providers and escalating as necessary.
  • Develops custom reports, queries, menus, extract/downloads, interfaces, and other programs for physicians as required.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and conducts end-user training on application software as needed.
  • Communicates with vendor personnel for troubleshooting applications whenever required.
  • Coordinates efforts of vendor contract personnel for pre-implementation readiness assessments as well as post-implementation assessments as needed.
  • Works efficiently and effectively toward the successful completion of team goals and objectives.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient and hospital related information.
  • Provides input to IT Director for project planning and progress updates.
  • Serves in on-call rotation for IT-related support.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.
