Applications Manager helps oversee the Clinical Informatics department and is responsible for the delivery and support of technology services including maintenance and enhancements of existing systems and collaboration on new systems and processes. The role is crucial in representing the design decisions for the project, identifying workflows, and any education needed, and supporting the users and the hospital around their technology. LOCATION West Texas, United States RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and lead a technical staff of clinical application specialists and clinical informaticists including training, evaluation, and job assignments

• Planning, Evaluation, Selection, Design, Development/Implementation, Recovery and Maintenance/Support of hospital applications

• Participate in all stages of technology changes, from specification development to implementation related to the clinical applications

• Provide ongoing support to users and serve as a resource person for daily operational issues related to the applications

• Collaborates with operational leaders, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team to evaluate current EMR functionality and develops future workflows.

• Collaborates with other IT teams on the development of end-user training materials and documentation

• Support clinicians through change & release management processes

• Recommends innovative ideas, processes and/or procedures for enhancements to improve existing systems

• Develop communication and training plans for technology changes

EXPERIENCE

• 8+ years' experience with functionality of EHR (Athena Applications) in an acute care hospital or healthcare setting

• Experience in project management and leadership over concurrent initiatives, with a proven track record of creative solution design, engineering, and coordination of delivery

• Experience with Athena applications, clinical content design, and support

• Experience with Change & Release Management

• Familiarity with the Health Information Systems Standards and Best Practices concepts and requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
