Apprentice Fiber Optic TechnicianFull-Time, Hourly, Tipton, MO We're seeking a hardworking, construction-minded individual to join our team. This full-time opportunity joins a fast-paced environment working in fiber line construction. You'll be working alongside an experienced fiber technician. To be successful in this role, you will learn to perform fiber optic splicing, troubleshooting, and drop/cable constructions with the assistance of large and small equipment. Your primary areas of focus will be: new construction, troubleshooting existing construction, and restoring fiber services. On a regular basis you will:

• Perform outside plant construction related to buried and aerial FTTH.
• Perform jobsite and project documentation
• Participate in a regularly scheduled on-call rotation.

The most successful employees in this role have:

• Ability to independently operate all assigned equipment including but not limited to OTDR, fusion splicer, lasher, bucket truck, and drop plow
• Ability to distinguish colors and clearly communicate Fiber Optic Cable Color Codes
• Ability to climb poles (using own equipment)
• Ability to adhere to all OSHA and DOT requirements

Apprentice Fiber Optic Technicians are required to reside no more than thirty-five (35) minutes (as computed by Google Maps and verified by the Fiber Technician Supervisor) from the office to which they are assigned.
