. PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF PROGRAMBoys & Girls Village provides a wide array of behavioral health programming, including two intensive 24 x 7 programs, a therapeutic K-12 school, community programs and substance use services, juvenile justice services as well as others. Most programs involve youth with significant behavioral, psychiatric and trauma related issues. The medical staff comprised of psychiatrists, APRN, and nursing staff provide a strength-based approach to evaluations, medication management, crisis assessments and operate within the context of a team. II. POSITION OVERVIEWThe Staff APRN variously acts as team lead or treating prescriber for those services at Boys & Girls Village which require psychiatric involvement or oversight. The roles and assignment is determined by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and is consistent with the identified program's design and goals. This position operates under the direct authority of the CMO and in collaboration with other BGV psychiatric staff who provide supervision.III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as a team leader, consultant or treating prescriber to programs assigned, and provides those services in coordination with Program DirectorCompletes admission psychiatric evaluations, and medication management and crisis evaluations and risk assessments of identified cases.Primary area of responsibility are the intensive 24 x 7 programs and therapeutic day school, all o Milford campus.Actively participates in various program rounds.Acts as a liaison with primary care providers and may be called upon to assess or triage client medical needsWhile most programs are on Milford campus APRN will be expected to provide remote and on occasion in person coverage of community services from BGV's other sitesActs as a liaison with referring medical staff and treatment facilities.Works directly with clients and families to educate and explain in a collaborative fashion psychiatric and behavioral health needsEngages with payors and licensing bodies as needed to ensure client psychiatric needs are metSupervised by CEO/designee.Available for coverage of cases when not on campus and as needed during 'off hours'.Carries out other job related duties as necessary.IV. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLSMust be Board Certified or Board Eligible Child/Family Psychiatric APRN.Or extensive pediatric behavioral health experience requiredKnowledge of community pediatric behavioral health principles and multi-disciplinary team concepts is desirable.V. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working with seriously emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children and teenagers in home and community based programs is desired. .
