Looking for an aquatic applicator for a fast-paced aquatic company located in Riviera Beach, Florida.

We utilize airboats, swamp buggies, ATV's, Argos, mowers and weedeaters, trucks, skiffs, and other specialized equipment to manage vegetation for both public and private sectors.

Qualified applicants must have experience working outdoors, have a valid and clean Florida driver's license, be able to pass drug and background screening, and ability to obtain a certification from the Florida Department of Agriculture.

Hourly pay starts $17 - $20+ per hour depending on experience. You will get a pay raise at the end of your probationary period, and another when you acquire your aquatic license. If you currently possess a license, this will be added into your starting pay.

Potential employee will operate airboats, all-terrain vehicles, midsize tractors, outboard motorboats, aquatic vegetation harvesters, chemical spray trucks, backpack sprayers including transporting, loading, and offloading of equipment.

The job includes filling sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas. Mixes herbicides and/or algaecides for application to vegetation or algae. Connects hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities. Starts motors and engages machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment.

Potential employee will need to:

Maintain awareness of weather conditions, environmentally sensitive areas, drift potential, obstructions, and herbicide label restrictions when planning and implementing control activities.

Prepare and maintain vegetation management reports and daily logs.

Uses a map and/or GPS to identify location and record, reference or retrieve vegetation management data.

Incumbent must have good verbal and written communication skills, ability to plan and manage workloads, enthusiasm, and temperament for dealing with harsh wetland field conditions, and willingness and commitment to actively contribute to a collaborative teamwork effort.

Work hours are Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in aquatic management preferred, but not required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Maintain a valid Applicator License with Aquatic category (Recertification is required every 4 years). If the Incumbent does not currently possess a valid pesticide applicator license, we will allow a period of 12 months from date of hire to obtain the license. Futures will pay the cost of pesticide applicator training & licensing. Valid State of Florida Driver's License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Primarily field work with regular exposure to unpredictable weather conditions. Position works outside on the water.

Daily vegetation management operations are usually performed independently.

Must be able to travel.

Moves or otherwise transports equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more, needs the ability to bend, twist, stand for long periods of time. Must be able to hitch a trailer to the truck and load chemical for the week.
