Scope of Position:The Area Accounting Manager is responsible for providing consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel by supplying management with guidance and training; focusing on the profitability of the business; maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting; ensuring acceptable levels on internal control; ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.Position Qualifications and Requirements:Education & Experience:•Four-year college degree is required, and/or equivalent work experience.•Certification preferred: Senior manager and/or other certification as required by franchise.•Previous Department managerial experience preferred.•Minimum of 7 years of financial working knowledge and computer skills required;•Advanced knowledge of Excel required.•Alcohol awareness certification as required by local or state government agency.•Valid state driver's license from applicable state and MVR in good standing.Physical Demands:•Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends.•Medium Work - Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.•As MOD, ability to move quickly to the various departments on property.
