Position Summary: This is a benefit eligible full-time position at the Horticulture Program, College of Agriculture. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with and report to the Regional Horticulture Educator. He/she is expected to locate and serve at least 30 growers of Horticulture Crops in his/her county of residence and two adjacent counties. They will also be expected to contribute to the development and publication of a monthly newsletter, develop a database for producers in their area of service, develop a database for producers in their area of service, determine the areas of concerns of farmers, conduct farm visits, phone calls, and emails, for technical support, coordinate the area's educational events, collaborate with colleagues from Lincoln University, University of MO, and USDA personnel, contribute to the Missouri Ag Statistics Census, and develop reports on the extension activities of the program.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

* Report to the Regional Horticulture Educator

* Identify and serve at least 30 growers.

* Determine their needs and concerns of growers and develop a database for Missouri producers.

* Conduct farm visits, phone calls, and emails for technical support, and coordinate the area educational events.

* Develop reports on the extension activities of the Horticulture Program in the region.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Technical experience in Horticulture or related field

* Ability to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to develop publications, spreadsheets, and presentations.

* Ability to use computer in all its functions, to send and receive emails and to attach and receive attachments.

* Ability to connect on zoom, present, and meet on zoom.

* Must be able to demonstrate the ability to conduct quality extension activity.

* Background in Crop Production, Food Safety, and Technology is highly desirable.

* Effective oral and written communication skills and willingness and ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students are essential.

* Driving license and a personal car are required.

Education and Experience:

* Master's degree in Horticulture or closely related fields; technical experience in Horticulture is required.

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to do farm work; ability to lift up to 25 lbs; ability to work in hot and cold weather conditions.
