This role will work with a diverse team to improve our competitive advantage for the manufacturing of Kapton® Polyimide Films. The Kapton® facilities consist of polymer manufacturing, solvent distillation and extraction, film casting, and numerous converting operations such as coating, heat treatment, and slitting. This position will be responsible for the leading a segment of the film casting operation. The Circleville site also manufactures Teflon® film and Vespel® resin and has a wide variety of on-site engineering disciplines such as R&D and project engineering.The Circleville site is a short drive from Columbus, OH, a growing city that is currently the 14th largest in the nation. This proximity to Columbus allows either urban or rural living, great for families and single living. The area offers many museums and arts-scene experiences, professional and collegiate sports, and has several highly ranked golf courses and state/metro parks for the outdoor enthusiast. See www.experiencecolumbus.com for additional information.The Circleville site is one of three primary manufacturing locations that produce Kapton®, part of the Interconnect Solutions business unit within DuPont. This business unit is part of DuPont's Electronics and Industrial Platform. Electronics and Industrial is comprised of several high growth global businesses supplying a broad array of materials to multiple consumer electronics and industrial sectors. Dupont recently invested over $250MM to build a new Kapton® manufacturing asset at the Circleville site, as well.This role reports to the Kapton® Unit Leader and oversees a team of Front-Line Leaders, Operations Technicians, Maintenance Personnel, Process Engineers, and other support staff. The Area Leader role will provide strategic and tactical direction to the safe manufacture of high quality Kapton® film that satisfies our customer needs and deliver superior financial performance.Core Responsibilities:Sets expectations and is accountable for unit's performance including EHS, PSM, cost, quality, capital, production and associated tracking systems.Accountable for maintaining and improving the unit culture in alignment with DuPont Core Values on EHS, Respect for People, Ethical Behavior, and Sustainability.Provides Felt Leadership on Core Values performance for the area, including ensuring regulatory compliance, and compliance with area/site safety rules and policies. Ensures PSM compliance in facility. This facility handles combustible solvents above the flashpoint and is considered a High Hazard Process.Provides leadership and daily direction for the area including daily production execution to plan.Establishes clear expectations with an overall high bar for performance and drives accountability and continuous improvement with the Line Organization.Drives continuous improvement in key production metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Yield, and Quality.Collaborates with supply chain, commercial, and quality teams on customer facing issues such as production to schedule and product quality.Coaches and develops direct reports and cultivates atmosphere of learning and development in the broader Team.Leads and coordinates projects with cross functional teams to drive improvements in area performance including OpEx elements.Own and manages the areas infrastructure capabilities and resource plan.Establish and maintain strong rapport across the organization to enable and foster teamwork, collaboration, ownership, and performance.Oversees the operation of a 24/7 days a week with support from other leaders.Visible and accessible leader to the organization.Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesRequired qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, or Equivalent experience.5+ years of industrial experience3+ years Manufacturing leadership leading people, quality, maintenance, reliability, and EHSDemonstrated record of driving change, elevating performance and delivering resultsStrong understanding and demonstrated commitment to operational discipline and Process Safety ManagementExperience driving key production metrics (Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Yield, Quality, etc.)Effective communication skillsExperience in implementing Manufacturing systems (OpEx/Lean)Cost management experienceStrategic Planning and business analysis experience (to set priorities and provide direction)Teambuilding and demonstrated ability to lead a respectful work environment where everyone can contribute to their full potential.TEEP/OEE expertise
