  • Deliver excellent student supervision consistent with the age and abilities of students

Whole School Responsibilities:

Instructional Responsibilities:
  • As a long-term assignment substitute teacher, you will be responsible for planning and teaching lessons to students for one to five periods per day while the host teacher is away from their classroom.
  • Invictus will provide all substitutes with two full days of paid training, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • During the course of the school year, you will have the opportunity to teach different subjects and grade levels, an excellent launchpad for someone interested in becoming a full-time teacher in the future.

Position Details:
  • This is an on call, hourly position. The hourly substitute rate is $40 per hour. The hours are:
    • Monday, Thursday, and Friday: 7:45am-3:00pm
    • Monday & Wednesday: 7:45am-4:00pm
  • All days may require supervision responsibilities during classroom transitions.
  • For planned absences, we will schedule substitute assignments in advance. For unexpected absences, we will either call the evening prior or the day of by 7:30am.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Earned Bachelor's Degree.
  • You are excited to be part of the teaching profession in California public schools and a member of the Invictus community.
  • You have or can obtain a Valid 30-day Emergency Substitute Permit or have other Valid CA Teaching Credential.

  • You are able to start immediately and can be available on call.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Our ideal candidate has at least three years of teaching experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position is on-site. The employee must have sufficient mobility to report to campus, work in a classroom, and engage with students, with or without reasonable accommodations.
