OverviewVermont is a national leader in Artificial Intelligence and we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced AI Director to carry forward our AI implementations. As the AI Director, you will work with legislators, senior state officials, businesses, and other stakeholders to build awareness about how AI can be applied ethically and safely, develop effective applications for AI, and oversee the ongoing implementation and monitoring of AI within the State.The successful candidate will have a deep understanding ofAI technologies and their applications, as well as experience in developing and implementing AI strategies. You will be a strong communicator and collaborator, able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve common goals. You will have technical chops and experience in taking AI solutions into production, coupled with an interest in applied AI ethics and practical policy.Vermont To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Six years or more experience in artificial intelligence, technical management, computer sciences, data analytics, business administration, public administration, mathematics, technical operations management or providing supervision to staff within an IT environmentIn additional to general technical experience, ideal candidates would also have the following:
- Experience in developing and managing digital platforms and solutions, preferably in the areas of data science, artificial intelligence, constituent engagement, customer relationship management, or web content management
- Experience bringing AI-powered tools into production environments
- Experience with process engineering, robotic process automation, LEAN techniques, continuous improvement, or other process improvement methodologies
- Experience leading data analytics, management, or stewardship practices
- Experience communicating AI concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience in leading and managing complex IT projects, involving multiple stakeholders, technologies, & vendors
- Experience in budget management and financial planning for IT initiatives
- Experience in solutions for digital transformation, user experience, and web accessibility
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
