POSITION SCOPE The Screed Operator is a safety sensitive position that must be able to operate a loader according to project specifications. The individual will be responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment on a daily basis. The position is based in the Arizona area and requires travel. PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, screeds, rollers, graders, pavers, paving finishing machines, paving curbing machines, milling machines and front end loaders to apply asphalt products efficiently to meet job specifications.
  • Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup.
  • Strong communication skills to have constant contact with other paving staff, drivers and laborers.
  • General housekeeping of equipment and plant on a daily basis along with general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor.
  • May set up and tear down equipment.
  • Must be able to work outside for long periods of time in all weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
  • Individual must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. on a regular basis.
  • The use of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, etc. to move material will be necessary.
  • Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • BACKGROUND
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license and have a clean motor-vehicle record to meet company insurance guidelines.
  • Willing to work in a team environment.
  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment and able to perform routine maintenance.
