Position Summary: This position assembles generator sets and sub-assemblies that include both standard and non-standard product lines. This will require using hand and power tools and following quality and procedural techniques.
Key Accountabilities: - Read, interpret, and implement mechanical instructions, drawings, schematics and equipment used to perform mechanical assembly duties on Line 1 HPR Units
- Trouble shoot mechanical failures on Line 1 HPR Units
- Operate hoists, and other mechanical equipment on large HPR Units
- Cross train in multiple assembly and mechanical areas and help in other areas based on necessity.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the products assembled and continuous learning of the principles, practices and processes of their job as changes require.
- Recognize obvious defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship and general quality.
- Responsible for following safety and environmental procedures and established processes and policies.
- Provide input on continuous improvement opportunities within the department
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
- Perform special projects as required
Basic Requirements: - 5 years of mechanical knowledge and use of hand tools and equipment
- Strong ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
- Strong ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates proficiency in both oral and written communication as well as communicate in a team environment
- Strong ability to use a variety of hand and power tools with proper
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently
Preferred Qualifications: - Quality and detail orientation and basic organizational skills
- Strong ability to learn and adapt to changing technology
