Start the next chapter of your career with Crane Aerospace & Electronics!Job Summary:The Assembler III works under limited supervision performing assigned assembly processes tomanufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military and/or otherassembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions. In addition, the Assembler IIIcommunicates with all levels of the Value Stream as well as performs visual and dimensionalinspection.Essential Functions:Perform assigned assembly tasksPrepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assembliesTest finished assembliesSet up and operate assigned equipment and machineryObserve proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicalsTrain and mentor new employees and other team members in new processes, procedures and Crane toolsPrioritize daily demand per Master Schedule Report for the cell(s) they are working inDiscuss and problem solve quality issues with Manufacturing Engineers, the Quality group, and leadershipCreate work orders, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for quality and material issues, and First Article Inspection's (FAIs) at “In process/End Item” as well as other assorted assembly functionsPractice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy; Proactively identify safety concerns or issues and work with the Engineering group to implement solutionsParticipate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvementCross-train to work on at least 4 productsComplete job-related company training coursesSupport Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they ariseFlexible and willing to work overtime if necessaryAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementNon-Essential Functions:Understand and/or participate with internal/external auditsPerform inventory cycle countsMay be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies Minimum Qualifications:Experience: 3-5 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsSkills: Strong verbal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language; Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept handeye coordination and arm-hand steadiness; Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams; Ability to work well in high paced work environment in a high volume settingEducation/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent; Fine soldering certificate or equivalent experience Preferred Qualifications:Ability to coach and mentor as well as have input into employment processAbility to do part marking, wrapping and packaging finished goods and transport to other workareasAbility to ensure all paperwork is completed appropriately and close work ordersAbility to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructionsExperience maintaining equipment on a stringent calibration scheduleIPC solder rework certificationDesignated Inspection certificationWorking Conditions:Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environmentManufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPEMay be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumesStanding: 25% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work taskSitting: 75% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work taskLifting (in pounds): up to 40 poundsPushing (in pounds): up to 40 poundsMental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glassesWorkspace: assembly cellTop Benefits:Salary range: $21.63 to $33.47. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
