Job Description :

The Assembler III is responsible for building, repairing and testing assigned electrical panels and electronics, as well as assembling both heavy and light mechanical and electrical equipment including heavy plumbing, to exact specifications, working to close tolerances. Perform final testing of equipment to ensure function and appearance standards are met. Assemble, wire and test mechanical and electrical equipment to exact specifications, working to close tolerances. Clean and test critical components identified for production. Rework (including identification of components to be refurbished and coordination of the breakdown and cleaning of components), repair, assemble and test all returned Ecolab equipment.   • Perform plumbing, electrical wiring, testing of mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic components and assembled units of all types and make necessary adjustments and/or corrections.
  • Perform assigned salvage operations, including material handling, disassembly, clean, repair, test and refurb
  • Perform initial production runs and prototype work from engineering specifications
  • Use and setup of all required power tools and equipment
  • Advise or assist Assembly II employees on technical matters as needed
  • Train other employees, as assigned, on any job for which qualified
  • Set-up and use of all necessary power tools and equipment such as pumps, air tools, motors, etc. hand tools, fixtures and test equipment. Must provide own tools.
  • Work from process and specifications sheets, blue prints, VIBs (visual instruction booklets) and verbal or written English instructions
  • Accurately process necessary transactions related to labor reporting and record keeping
  • Adhere to all plant procedures
  • Work well as part of a team
Position Details:
  • Plant location: Elk Grove Village, IL
  • Work week and shift: Monday - Thursday from 6:00 AM -4:00 PM with potential Friday shifts
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand upwards of 10 hours
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience as Assembly II or equivalent experience
  • Experience with plumbing, assembly techniques and test procedures
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Coursework in basic electricity and basic plumbing or equivalent experience
  • Coursework in algebra, programmable controllers, logic and digital electronics or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with chemicals and their reactions on metals and coating including caustic acids and degreasing fluids; Ability to distinguish between various metals
  • Extensive troubleshooting capabilities required throughout the department
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints, specifications, electrical schematics and color coding for basic wiring
  • Knowledge of Solid State electronics, relay logic and programmable controllers
  • Knowledge of electrical components and multiple/single phase wiring
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment gained through prior related experience
  • Strong analytical ability; Ability to solve problems and devise methods and procedures for refurb or first-run or unique equipment
  • Ability to follow English written and verbal instructions
