POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs repetitive assembly operations to manufacture product made by SERVA group facilities in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performing any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools
  • Interpretation of mechanical drawings, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
  • Ability to read and interpret conventional and precision measuring instruments.
  • Safe and appropriate operation of any equipment needed to perform job.
  • Recording serial numbers and other information as necessary to complete paperwork associated with any job.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area
  • Basic maintenance of equipment
  • Works with limited supervision.
  • Other tasks or duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular contact with all levels of personnel throughout the organization
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Recalling data and procedures on a daily basis, including taking notes, copying prints as needed.
  • To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee must be able to read and understand written and oral instructions, safety documents, procedural manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to communicate with co-workers and supervisors in a courteous and professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma (or successful completion of equivalency) preferred.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals)
  • Up to 2 yrs. assembly experience in a similar product mix, or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic aptitude.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, set priorities, and follow through with assigned tasks with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to work extra hours as needed to complete assignments or special projects.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug & background screening.

COMPENSATION:

Depending on experience the range for this role is between $22.00 - 26.00 an hour. Overtime required when assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The performance of this position will require exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting as required within limits set by SERVA.
