About the job Assembler Assembly 1About the Role:The KA Group is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of earthmoving scrapers and accessories for the construction, mining, and agricultural industries. The Company is composed of three brands, namely K-TEC, Ashland Industries, and Metalcraft, with the brands products being differentiated by size, target markets, and the technologies offered. KA Group maintains manufacturing and warehouse facilities in Manitoba and Wisconsin.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssembly Duties:Perform forklift operation and material handling.Assemble a wide range of products according to blueprints and technical specifications.Have a sense of quality products and conduct final quality control checks to ensure all products meet company and industry standards.Ability and willingness to learn new skills and processes. Show a proven commitment to continuous improvement.Assist in loading and unloading trucks with finished products, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures.Utilize a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., impact guns, presses, grinders) to complete assembly tasks efficiently.Follow ISO standards and maintain high levels of safety and housekeeping throughout the shift.Provide good customer service & communicate skills (read, write, speak, listen and understand work instructions).Perform rigging and overhead crane operations.Basic computer skills to complete job costing and input of other data crucial to tracking KPIs.Additional duties as assigned to support the goals of the team and organization.Blasting Duties:Shot-Blast product and parts to remove mill scale to provide proper profile.Operate blast booth to clean, strip, or prepare surfaces per job specifications.Adjust blasting equipment settings to achieve desired results while minimizing material waste.Light maintenance includes cleaning booth, loading grit, changing filters.Adhere to safety protocols and proper handling techniques for blasting operations.Regularly inspect blasting equipment for signs of wear and perform necessary maintenance or report issues as needed.REQUIREMENTSMechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to completing tasks.Capacity to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted as required.Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment.Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to abrasive blasting.Additional duties as assigned to support the goals of the team and organization.QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or equivalentPreferred 2 Years manufacturing experience.Proven experience in an assembly role, with a strong understanding of blueprints and technical documents.Hands-on experience with various hand and power tools.Familiarity with blasting equipment and procedures is highly desirable.Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities throughout the shift.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Excellent safety and housekeeping practices.Experience with ISO standards or similar quality management systems is a plus.Experience in forklift operation.Experience in rigging and overhead crane operation.ADDITIONAL INCENTIVES Retirement savings plan, with up to 6% company matchHealth, Dental, FSA, Life Insurance, Accidental Death and Short-Term DisabilityPaid time off (vacation, personal time off, holidays, bereavement).Company events Safe and supportive work environment with a commitment to employee well-being.Discounted company merchandiseProfit SharingSafety allowanceHow to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter outlining their qualifications and experience to PJ Hyde, HR/Payroll Specialist, [email protected], or mail to Ashland Industries, PO Box 717, Ashland, WI 54806.
