Position Summary:
Responsible for performing a wide variety of mechanical assembly operations of Hydraulic and pneumatic valves, which includes skilled hand work. Work is semi-routine in nature, following detailed established processes and procedures. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and wiring on assembly units.
Essential Functions:
- Reads and interprets assembly drawings, parts lists, operation sheets, manufacturing procedures and visual aids.
- Assembles various mechanical devices on hydraulic and pneumatic valves using drawings, work instructions, blueprints or schematics.
- Perform and document completed work via a traveler/routers. Ensures correct specification and function criteria are met per the manufacturing instructions. Presents objective evidence to Quality Control that tasks were completed to all specifications.
- Mechanical assembly and testing to blueprints and ATP's.
- Performs testing on hydraulic and pneumatic test stands, electrical testing (Dialectical, Ohm Meter, DITMCO).
- Meets productivity standards; completes work in timely manner; meets commitments.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Ability to use hand tools, such as screwdrivers, torque and standard hand wrenches, pliers, nut-drivers, power drivers, soldering iron or crimping device, etc
- Performs visual and dimensional inspections for in-process assemblies and finished products.
- Dexterity to handle small parts.
- Follows industry standards in best practices for FOD, ESD, and material handling controls.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Must possess excellent analytical, organizational and communicational skills.
- Ability to function under minimal supervision.
- This position may require sitting for long periods of time.
Education Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the Aerospace industry.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years of mechanical assembly with hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
- Electrical experience helpful.
- JST-001 certification a plus as well as with IPC-620 standards.
