About the Role

Zadar Labs is seeking a part-time Assembly and Electronics T echnician to join our innovative radar team based in Campbell, CA. We develop and manufacture advanced imaging radar systems, powering groundbreaking applications in autonomous vehicles, robots, mining, agriculture, and smart city infrastructure. As a core member of our on-site team, you will be responsible for assembling and testing production radar units as well as supporting the team with prototype development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly & Testing: Assemble, calibrate, and test radar units according to established procedures, including installation of PCBs, applying adhesives, and operating programming and calibration equipment.
  • SMT Rework & Prototyping: Perform surface mount technology (SMT) rework on PCBs, crimp cables and harnesses, and assemble mechanical prototypes based on engineering needs.
  • Execution of Test Procedures: Carry out test procedures and provide feedback to the engineering team for continuous improvement of products and processes.
  • Quality Control & Inventory Management: Inspect incoming parts, outgoing shipments, and track inventory to ensure efficient production workflows.
  • Vehicle and Platform Prototyping: Build vehicle and robot prototypes based on direction from the engineering team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a technician or electromechanical technician.
  • Technical Skills: Capable of hand soldering small surface mount components (as small as 0201), crimping small connector terminals, and performing quality inspections.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and time management skills with a positive attitude.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with Linux and scripting for automating repetitive tasks.
  • Experience with 3D printing and designing small 3D printed fixtures.
  • Ability to identify production bottlenecks and suggest process improvements.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Pay: The pay range for this role is $25-35/hour, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Starting time is 20 hours/week with the opportunity for growth based on future customer shipment demand.
