Assembly Material Handler is an entry-level position with room to grow. Starting pay is $21.50 per hour. What you'll do as an Assembly Material Handler:
- Take care of your internal customers - pick orders and deliver parts to the Assembly lines, ensure each line is fully stocked with all materials needed to complete the scheduled MOs each day.
- Use carts and pallet jacks to transport materials from pre-assembly staging to each assembly line.
- Perform daily cycle counts of Assembly managed inventory (AMI) and enter counts into database.
- Maintain accurate Assembly inventory records. Use GP to track all product moves and help chase down any differences between physical counts and system counts.
- Rotate inventory when receiving new supplies (first in, first out).
- Take direction and work independently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Teamwork - Readily share knowledge and help train others.
- Collaboration - Pitch in wherever help is needed to meet daily production goals.
- No Drama - Communicate clearly and professionally, even when you're busy.
- Be actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts.
- Be on time for every shift - reliable attendance is a must!
Requirements
- Maintain focus and organization in a busy production environment.
- Working knowledge of computer basics (email, web browsing, simple documents or spreadsheets).
- Basic math skills and the ability to accurately record inventory information or other data.
- Read, write, speak, create, and understand English work directions, documents, and safety rules.
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry 15-30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. when required.
- Ability to stand and walk for your full shift.
Desired Experience - Highly preferred, but not required:
- Previous material handling experience such as restocking, replenishment, or other related inventory control duties.
- Prior experience doing regular cycle counts is preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Warehouse Management System (WMS) software.
- Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routings.
- Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles in a production or warehouse setting.
