Assembly Process Technician
This is a hands-on position in our prototype line developing team that requires a broad understanding of the equipment and processes. Manufacturing equipment support responsibilities will include set up, maintenance and troubleshooting of the automated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process support may include daily equipment setup, planned maintenance and unplanned equipment troubleshooting, as well as assisting production with identifying, responding to, and disposition of non-conforming material.
* Work with manufacturing personnel, other technicians, and process engineers to follow project plans, execute material testing and equipment maintenance, and collection of data for analysis.
* Run various packaging assembly equipment, including but not limited to die bonder, wire bonders, C-SAM systems, plasma cleaners, ovens, stencil, SMD chip shooter, reflow, Fico molding, lead trimming, and laser marking systems.
* Enter pertinent data into log files or MES system for appropriate lot and data tracking.
* Verify quality of products coming off the line meets internal or external customer requirements.
* Initiate process improvements maintenance such Flange / hub conditioning, cleaning of machines / sensors.
* Assisting with qualification of new processes and equipment.
* Running experiments on new and existing equipment.
* Optimization of parameters / process.
* Helping run or setting up for engineering build request or assisting with coordinating the build.
* Collection of data, documentation of procedures (updating procedures / Routes), and training of operators are also important parts of this role.
Key Competencies & Skills:
* Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is expected.
* Read, interpret, troubleshoot from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
* Ability to work well with others from all disciples of the Company is expected.
* Able to work and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.
* Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs, works in awkward positions as necessary, walks, stands, or sits for extended periods.
Qualifications and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent, associated degree in technical field preferred.
* 5+ years in an equipment and/or process technician role with extensive hands on experience.
* Work Authorization: Because this position is part of a business unit that contracts with the U.S. government, qualified candidates must be U.S. Persons.
* Knowledge of semiconductor assembly processes including but not limited to die sorting, chip and wire or flip chip die attach, epoxy or solder dispense, ultrasonic microscopy, and device sealing or over molding.
* Hands on experience with programming and operating die attach and wire bonding equipment.
* Capable of troubleshooting equipment, performing scheduled PMs and calibrations.
* Experience with assembly of high power RF products preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to carry out defined tasks independently with minimum supervision.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have a general knowledge of electronics manufacturing, with a strong aptitude and interest in working with automated and manual assembly equipment as well as the communication skills required to work with engineering.
Pay range for this position is $21 per hour to $38 per hour USD.
Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
