The Assembly Planner supports the vision of the organization by planning and preparing production schedules to manufacture our laboratory products in the Assembly department. They will advise the Production Department Manager in establishing and achieving production schedule priorities. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze needs and data in order to determine course of action for production schedules.
  • Issue manufacturing orders to Assembly department in due date sequence ensuring alignment to meet order requirements. Exercise independent judgment, evaluate and compare possible courses of action and make decisions regarding scheduling of production
  • Forecast future demand for APS/MRP planning and production efficiency.
  • Complete inventory transactions and allocate inventory accordingly for finished goods.
  • Provide order/flow control support to the Production department(s).
  • Assist with planning and implementation of productivity improvement.
  • Communicate with Customer Service regarding expedite requests, unique orders and monitor order entry, as needed.
  • Communicate and resolve material shortages, as needed.
  • Coordinate bill of material changes as dictated by Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) or Engineering Deviation Authorizations (EDA's) with Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Coordinate specials packets between the Database Facilitator and the shop floor.
  • Coordinate material expedites and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Conduct cycle counts on items, as required, to proactively reduce and correct errors, and investigate to find root causes for these errors.
  • Assist in execution of annual physical inventory.
Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned by Materials Manager or Manufacturing Management. Education and/or Experience Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
