Parraid, a products company, is wholly devoted to design, engineering, sales, and support of telemetry data systems and tactically oriented mission-critical communications solutions. We are headquartered in Hollywood, MD, with a great team, well-established product lines, and a growing client base. We are seeking a capable Assembly Technician (I or II) to work as a member of the Production Team to assemble and process hardware and software-based product orders. As an electronics manufacturer, the role of the Assembly Technician at Parraid is to assemble electronic parts, mount them into larger assemblies or casings, ensure the proper soldering and installation of electric wiring, as well as building associated system level cables. Responsibilities:

  • Assembles and fabricates mechanical parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications.
  • Reads, interprets, and follows basic diagrams, engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, bills of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Performs assembly work using hand-held tools and soldering equipment and ensures the products meet quality standards, performing quality work checks.
  • Conducts miniature / micro-miniature soldering in the removal and installation of electronic components on printed circuit boards IAW IPC J-STD-001 Standards
  • Works in accordance with ISO 9001 and IPC J-STD standards.
  • May conduct peer inspections on production line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • Keeps inventory of required products.
  • Identifies assembly defects and completes/updates appropriate documentation.
  • Reworks or repairs assembled equipment and products, following engineering specifications.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Prepares finished products for packaging/shipping.
  • Assist in packaging and shipping of deliverables per the Packaging and Shipping Process.
  • Maintains assigned workstation in an orderly manner.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Supports co-worker efforts, and solicit assistance, when necessary or appropriate.
  • Executes tasking in accordance with QMS processes and procedures.
Skills:
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Experience using basic lab equipment / tools such as: standard hand and power tools, soldering equipment, oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Demonstrates high-quality miniature / micro-miniature soldering capabilities.
  • Have a strong understanding of both electronic and mechanical operations.
  • Able to read technical schematics and blueprints.
Desired Experience:
  • Experience with IPC J-STD or equivalent as well as ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience in wiring, soldering operations, and Surface Mount soldering.
  • Experience with soldering fine pitch components requiring use of microscope.
Toolsets:
  • Able to use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip.
  • The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 50 pounds.
  • The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
Job Location:
  • Parraid Headquarters is in Hollywood, Maryland, United States.
  • Only candidates within a 60-mile radius of our Hollywood, MD office will be considered.
  • There is no relocation benefit is offered for this position.
Job Type: Full-Time/Regular Years of Experience:
  • Assembly Technician I: 4 - 14 years' experience as a professional electronics assembly technician, background with either telemetry data or communications systems desired.
  • Assembly Technician II: 14 - 20 years' experience as a professional electronics assembly technician, background with either telemetry data or communications systems desired.
Minimum Level of Education:
  • Assembly Technician I: High school graduate or recognized equivalent per Entry Level above and at least 4 additional years of education and/or experience.
  • Assembly Technician II: Relevant Associate Degree / Technical Degree (or beyond) with 4+ years of relevant experience in production assembly and soldering experience OR a High School Diploma with 14+ years of relevant experience in production assembly and soldering experience.
