Gulf Fiberoptics Assembly Technician Job Summary The position's main responsibility is for a variety of steps in the assembly of medical fiber optic light guide bundles . A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all activities assigned is essential. Responsibilities and Duties
- Interpret drawings and routers to determine correct materials required for assembly.
- Maintain necessary documentation on work performed following established work instructions or procedures.
- Perform assembly functions required for tasks assigned following approved processes and training.
- Rotate among various assembly processes and in process jobs as required.
- Follow established procedures and drawing notes to affect compliant assemblies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and communicate in English.
- Ability to work alone and stay on task as required.
- Ability to work closely with other technicians as required.
- Patience and perseverance, some of the work we do is difficult.
- Lift materials of up to 40 lbs as may be needed.
- Stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Excellent near vision and hand/eye coordination.
- Bend, stoop and stretch as required for placement and/or retrieval of materials used in assembly process(es).
- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands.
- Good arm-hand steadiness and ability to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
- Ability to use a microscope and inspection loupes
Prior work experience in electronics or small assembly a plus. Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate/Credential, Technical, Trade or Vocational School Certification.
