SummaryThe Assistant Athletics Director, Ticket Sales & Service will lead in the overall needs of ticket sales efforts for Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. ( AWPAA ). This includes an emphasis on providing ongoing leadership and sales training to the respective staff this position oversees. This position will execute cross-functional work through consistent interaction with other revenue generating external units, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and by continuing to innovate in the ever-changing collegiate athletics landscape. Scope of ImpactHigh: The employee will work frequently with AWPAA's Digital Marketing, Army A Club (Athletics Development), and External Operations leaders. This position will also work with external constituents and agencies in managing a successful ticket sales unit. This position requires the employee to oversee department wide programs and initiatives as outlined in this job description.Level of Decision-MakingThis is a leadership position. This position will oversee direct reports and is charged with making both specified and implied decisions in an ever-changing environment. All decisions will be made based on mission requirements, will align with both the AWPAA and United States Military Academy ( USMA ) missions, will be in the best interest of the athletic department, and will adhere to all applicable rules and regulations. The Assistant Athletics Director, Ticket Sales & Service position will play an integral role in the success of AWPAA, the Ticket Sales unit, and the External Operations area(s).Success FactorsSuccess in this position will be evaluated by the Supervisor on the employee's performance in a variety of areas, including but not limited to Commitment to AWPAA Mission, Vision and Values; and supporting the AWPAA Strategic Plan and Priority Results.Essential Duties and Responsibilities 20% Team Leadership
  • Manage and lead the ticket sales team, providing training, support, and motivation to achieve sales targets and exceptional customer service processes.
  • Handle performance evaluations, issue resolution, and overall team development.
  • Responsible for setting staff schedules, approving time entries, and time off requests.
50% Sales & Customer Experience Operations
  • Oversee all inbound, retention and new business outbound ticket sales efforts related to season tickets, group tickets, single game tickets, premium tailgates, and experience sales.
  • Create and implement comprehensive marketing strategies in collaboration with the digital marketing unit focused on ticket sales.
  • Establish and monitor unit and individual sales goals for each season and category of ticket.
  • Assist with event pricing, planning and sales calendars with all revenue generating units (Ticketing, Digital Marketing, Army A Club).
  • Oversee in-venue operational needs related to ticketing functionality for all ticketed sports.
20% Customer Relationship Management Platform:
  • Serve as the primary manager and operator for the Salesforce CRM platform for the Ticket Sales Unit, Army A Club (Development), and Legends.
  • Maintain and utilize CRM system to track ticket sales, analyze ticket data, and develop efficient processes for reporting ticketing KPIs to senior leadership.
5% Partner Relationship Management:
  • Coordinate with third-party entities such as Paciolan, Legends, and Learfield where necessary.
5% Other Duties as AssignedSupervisory Responsibilities
  • Direct supervision of 3-5 ticket office staff members.
Work Conditions & Physical RequirementsPerform duties in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally moves boxes weighing up to up to 30 lbs.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer, printer, and phone.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with team members USMA staff and vendors.
  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience may substitute.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a collegiate or professional sports ticket sales environment.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Team-First approach and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Paciolan ticketing platforms.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM.
  • Intellectual curiously in continually researching and implementing successful initiatives elsewhere in the industry into the organization.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.
  • Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
Pay Range$60,000 - $65,000This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries that AWPAA believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted position. AWPAA expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range.
