Assistant Carpenter - Community Homes - Springbrook (NY) : Job Details

POSITION SUMMARYAssist in timely and on budget completion of building projects assigned by the department head.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES* Needs may include but are not limited to: Assist carpenter in construction projects, such as decks, concrete walks, providing new openings for installing doors and/or windows.* Remodeling projects such as bathrooms, kitchens, and office spaces.* Maintain clean and safe work areas.* In charge of equipment and tools, to ensure they are kept in proper order and well maintained.* Provide a safe environment for residents & staff by constructing a work zone barrier to minimize peripheral impact from construction activity and to restrict access to power equipment by non-facilities personnel.* All other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS* High School Diploma or GED required* 1-2 years' experience in carpentry preferred.* Must be able to work a flexible schedule* Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.* Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.* Ability to lift up to 80 pounds in a safe manner.* Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
