About the Position:
The Assistant Chief Financial Officer collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer and assumes responsibility for the ongoing effective operation of the department by exerting a leadership role that supports the organization, mission, vision, goals, and objectives while focusing on the patient, physicians, providers, employees, supporting entities, and the community as customers. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer has ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination, and integration between ECHMN and El Camino Health's financial functions. The Assistant Chief Financial Officer is accountable for the department's direction and coordination.
The ideal Assistant Chief Financial Officer is a collaborative leader, able to work effectively with diverse teams and build strong relationships across departments and the health system. They possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and demonstrate the ability to mentor and coach staff. A deep understanding of healthcare finance, including budgeting, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance, is essential. In addition to their financial expertise, the Assistant Chief Financial Officer must be highly organized, with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. They should be proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions that enhance financial performance.
