Assistant Civil Engineer - gonzer : Job Details

Details: L.J Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified individuals for potential assignment as an Assistant Civil Engineer.

• Perform and conduct field surveys and prepare field survey reports
• Monitor construction field work by contractors ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specification and approve shop drawings
• Utilize web-based document management protocols to maintain all project submittals and correspondences
• Review and mark-up construction submittals
• Perform the following tasks, including, but not limited to:
  • site inspections
  • ascend and descend ladders and stairs
  • work on elevated platforms and scaffolds
  • stand for extended periods
  • work outdoors in all weather conditions , in subway tunnels and stations environments, etc.
• Under supervision of the Project Manager, participate in preparing and reviewing payments, AWOs, daily reports

Job RequirementsDetails:

• A Bachelor's OR Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
• 1 year of full-time satisfactory experience
• OSHA 30 Certification and 8-hour Lead
• Proficiency with AutoCad/Microstation and ProjectWise
• Demonstrated knowledge of Civil/Structural Engineering standards/codes and practice
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks between stakeholders which includes contractors operations, other departments and engineering personnel
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Skilled with Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to prioritize and ensure timely completion of assignments
