KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics, the assistant coach will discharge the following responsibilities:
* Conducts recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules through scouting, attending tournaments, and possible home visits.
* Oversees and coordinates one or more specified areas of a sporting discipline and/or provides technical support and training to student-athletes, as appropriate to the sport.
* Perform miscellaneous athletic coaching job-related duties, as assigned.
* May perform administrative duties including maintaining equipment, monitoring budgets, initiating correspondence and in planning and arranging team travel.
* Attend all required staff meetings.
* Assist with the academic monitoring of student-athletes.
* Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining compliance with NCAA, SUNYAC and Fredonia rules and regulations.
* Participate in committees and provide service to the Department, University, and Profession.
* Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
* Demonstrated record of successful participation, coaching and recruiting in the sport
* Demonstrated high level of motivation with strong interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated willingness and ability, to travel and work a flexible schedule
* Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and work with student employees
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the needs of diverse faculty, staff, students, and the university community
* Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues for program growth and enhancement
* Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or ability to immediately obtain
* Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
* Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's Degree
* Prior experience at the Division III level
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, ten-month, term-appointed, position. The start date will be negotiated with the final candidate.
