KDB is a government-owned bank based in South Korea and one of the largest banking and investment institutions in Korea. KDB has broadened its investment reach by establishing the first overseas VC subsidiary in Silicon Valley.
Founded in May 2021 and located in downtown Mountain View, KDB Silicon Valley LLC commenced its operations in September 2021. We focus on early-stage, cross-sector investments, typically ranging from $2M to $5M per investment. Additionally, we allocate capital to other VC funds as LP investments.
Job Description
KDB Silicon Valley LLC is seeking an Assistant Compliance Officer at our Mountain View office. Under the guidance of the Compliance Officer, the Assistant Compliance Officer will manage compliance programs, support legal matters, and conduct market research.
Location: Onsite at Mountain View office
Start Date: Jan 2025
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, market competitive
Responsibilities
· Implement and administer the company's compliance program, including developing and executing applicable risk assessments and reporting on compliance testing.
· Review and update compliance policies and procedures.
· Conduct and manage third-party risk management, including ongoing monitoring of third-party relationships.
· Manage and monitor the contract lifecycle, from initiation to termination.
· Develop and implement compliance training programs.
· Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance, and assess their impact on VC businesses.
· Respond to internal auditors during compliance audits and address internal audit findings.
· Coordinate with external experts for industry best practices and legal advice.
· Engage in effective communications with KDB and KDB NY branch's compliance department, submitting required reports accordingly.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Compliance Officer and responsible for certain administrative duties of the company.
· Analyze VC market trends and conduct related research.
· Assist in the company's strategic planning tasks as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor's degree or above
· Fluent in English and Korean preferred
· Previous experience in compliance or legal preferred, but not required
· Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
