Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, overseeing accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This is a fast-paced and hands-on position, where you will be involved in both day-to-day operations and long-term financial strategy.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and ensure they are completed within 24 hours of month-end close.
- Complete monthly tax reporting requirements and ensure accurate, timely filings.
- Regular review of all accounting schedules, balance sheets, and trial balances for monthly review and year-end closing and audits.
- Attend monthly meetings to review expenses, gross profit analysis, and contribute ideas for improving financial discipline and profitability.
- Lead and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Provide hands-on support for accounts receivable, accounts payable, warranty products, titling, and inventory management.
- Work closely with department heads to streamline operations and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
Qualifications:A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Relevant experience in automotive finance or dealership accounting is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data to offer actionable insights. Proficiency with dealership management software and Microsoft Excel is also required.
