This exciting role will be instrumental in driving our daily accounting operations, supporting month-end close, and enhancing accounting processes through automation and technical accounting expertise. While remote-first, this role prefers candidates located in Eastern Pennsylvania for occasional on-site work as needed. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will help optimize financial reporting, implement new systems, and support our growing business through thoughtful accounting strategies and efficient, streamlined processes.   • Lead aspects of daily accounting operations, including managing journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet reporting.
  • Support a timely and accurate month-end close, aiming to shorten close time.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives, leveraging NetSuite and other accounting tools.
  • Contribute to system implementations and broader automation projects.
  • Assist in developing tax strategies and managing intercompany activities to support the organization's evolving structure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for General Ledger, including managing month-end close process through preparation of and detailed review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and fluctuation analysis
  • Assist in assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvements and automation
  • Participate in the interpretation and analysis of new accounting standards and principles
  • Prepare technical schedules and memorandums over judgmental accounting areas
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal control procedures and related documentation
  • Coordinate with FP&A team to resolve various reporting matters, revenue and expense analysis
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis
  • Responsible for the consolidation and intercompany transactions and reconciliation
  • Maintain a compliance calendar for all external reporting requirements and execute on those deliverables including, but not limited to sales tax and income tax filings
  • Support payroll administration and reporting requirements
  • Supports external audit requests by providing account analyses and support for selections
  • Support SOC-1 controls and serve as liaison with technology teams for testing
Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, UK GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Knowledge of Accounting systems (Netsuite preferred) and internal controls best practices
  • Confident self-starter
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail
  • A critical thinker with a passion for improving and implementing best practices
