Job DetailsJob Details:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Assistant Controller to join our team in the agriculture industry. This is a pivotal role that will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the financial health of our organization, working closely with senior management to provide strategic insights and drive financial performance. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Post and review complex journal entries for various transactions, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks, providing insights to management for decision-making.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist external auditors with their review process by preparing supporting documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff on accounting procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in the budgeting process by providing financial data and assisting with forecasting future financial performance.
  • May be involved in preparing tax returns or supporting tax calculations.
  • Maintain sensitive financial information private and secure.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in the Engineering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, complex journal entries, account reconciliation, financial analysis, internal controls, audit support, mentorship and training, budgeting and forecasting, and tax preparation.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and act tactically.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
