In the past two years, Graza has expanded nationwide with retail partners and direct to consumer distribution. We're proud to be on the shelves of Whole Foods Market, Target, Walmart, Kroger, Safeway/Albertson, and many others. In the next year, we plan to continue our expansion and are looking for another member for our team.

About this Role:

The Assistant Controller will lead the accounting department at Graza and report directly to the CFO. This role will ensure Graza has best practices in place and help our accounting department develop.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the general accounting function, which includes general ledger, financial reporting, state and local taxes, F/X accounting, inventory management, financial statement preparation, cash flow reporting, and balance sheet management.
  • Maintain records in accordance with GAAP and research technical accounting issues in support of new business initiatives and new / proposed accounting standards.
  • Lead accurate and timely issuance of month-end, quarter, and other reports for management and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Provide leadership to organization on all areas of accounting policy, maintenance of internal controls, and manage fiduciary processes and procedures.
  • Assist in domestic and international filing requirements.
  • Ensure robust internal controls are in place and operating effectively across the organization.
  • Drives continuous improvement for accounting/finance processes, creating best-in-class processes and policies that evolve with business needs and emerging risks.

Our preferred candidate will have experience with:

  • Foreign exchange rates and their effects on financial statements.
  • Developing and leading teams.
  • Domestic and international accounting.
  • Leading external audits.
  • Building systems within ERPs to accurately capture COGS and manage inventory.
  • Both e-commerce and wholesale accounting practices; experience with both Shopify and Amazon preferred.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent.
  • CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • 7+ years experience in CPG or other inventory based business.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.

Benefits / What we offer:

  • The base pay range for this position is $120,000-130,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location.
