Dewberry is currently seeking a Assistant Department Manager to join our site/civil department in our Raleigh, NC office. This position will work on a variety of projects for clients within the energy, education, commercial, and community facilities market segments. The Assistant Department Manager will also engage in business development activities as needed.

Responsibilities
* Project Manager responsible for client relationship management.
* Preparation of all associated calculations, reports and spreadsheets.
* Collaborating and managing design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
* Support growth strategy for site/civil group.
* Conduct code research, write specifications, and obtain permitting.
* Assigns tasks to engineers, technicians and administrative staff.
* Tracks department workload and coordinates allocation of staff to projects.
* Prepare and review technical proposals and price proposals.
* Business development and proposal writing.
Required Skills & Required Experience
* B.S. in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
* 5+ years of experience required.
* Professional Engineering license in North Carolina is required.
* Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft office is required.
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
