Job Description The Assistant Director for Support Services is responsible for the direct supervision and guidance of Support Staff Supervisors while assuring outcomes are met and resources are utilized effectively. The Assistant Director must make sure the support services department runs efficiently while maintaining safety, permanency, and well-being of children in care and providing support to reintegration, adoption, and independent living teams.
- Provides direct supervision of Support Staff Supervisors including meeting with them individually once a month.
- Develops and oversees the completion of performance expectations. Conducts corrective counseling, provides guidance, and recommends termination when necessary.
- May fill in for Supervisors when absent or ensure coverage is obtained.
- Hires staff in coordination with Human Resources and Supervisor
- Assists with overseeing and maintaining a clean physical environment for all offices. This includes overseeing contracts with cleaning crews, snow removals, and other routine maintenance needs.
- Monitors and evaluates programs, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of programs, while assuring that outcomes are achieved, and safety is maintained.
- Works with Support Staff to locate vendors and obtain bids for office projects. Seeks approval from Director and RVP.
- Assures that record documentation and data management information is complete and accurate.
- Reviews and evaluates effectiveness/satisfaction of data and implements changes to improve program quality and achieve established outcomes.
- Advises Director of critical trends, problems, or events.
- Participates in meetings with DCF to review Case Read Results and shares information learned with Program Directors.
- Liaison with Program Supervisors/Directors and other departments to ensure effective communication.
- Communicates with community partners in a positive and respectful manner about the services Saint Francis provides.
- Assists with tracking and monitoring key functions of the CMP.
- Assesses and implements efficient practices for all Support Staff.
- Attends and participates in internal meetings with IT to serve as a voice for Program.
- Supports the day-to-day operations of each office.
- Assures program compliance with all licensing and accreditation standards and all federal, state, and local rules, statutes and regulation and terms of DCF contract.
- Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies, and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state, and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms.
- Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.
- Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.
- Ensures clients' rights are protected.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human services or related field.
- Prefer three years in administration and working with children and family services.
- Prefer experience with child welfare privatization services in state of Kansas.
- Prefer experience with clerical duties and data collection.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check and an Adult Registry check.
- FBI Fingerprint check
- Lifting Requirements of 30 - 50 lbs.
- Must have valid driver's license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
