Wonderspring Early Education is looking for an Assistant Director at its STAR 4 Powelton Village early childhood center, which serves infants through preschoolers in West Philadelphia. The Assistant Director will work with the Director in the overall management of the center including overseeing the quality of the program, meeting enrollment goals, program implementation, safety, operations, personnel management and regulatory compliance.Come work for an organization that values FUN and that is committed to helping employees develop their skills and talents.Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Assist with daily operations, manage compliance with all regulatory requirements, and maintain smooth center functioning.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Serve as a liaison between staff and leadership, supervise and manage staff performance, and facilitate professional development and training opportunities.
  • Documentation and Accreditation Support: Handle essential paperwork, maintain records and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, and assist in maintaining Keystone Stars.
  • Resource and Facility Management: Manage classroom inventory, center supplies, and oversee maintenance of the physical plant to ensure safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Community and Family Engagement: Enhance satisfaction among enrolled families, strengthen community relations, and ensure effective communication with parents and external partners.
Qualifications
  • Required: AA/AS in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 ECE credits.
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching in an educational setting
  • Supervisory experience, required
  • PA Directors Credential, preferred
  • Thorough and organized with the ability to manage in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion and commitment to best practices of Early Childhood Education
  • Understanding of Keystone STARS and DHS regulations
  • Experience with Creative Curriculum
