Salary range: $38,985.00 (minimum) - $55,559.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Irregular hours. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. #LI-JS1 DutiesDuties include, but are not limited to: Student Leadership Development & Organization Advising: Provide professional oversight and guidance to support student leadership development. Advise student organizations on goal setting, management, program planning, problem-solving, and group evaluation. Manage and implement a comprehensive leadership development program, including workshops and trainings for students, organizations, and advisors. Lead the planning of the annual Student Involvement and Leadership Awards (SILA). Work with campus departments to create a robust Pathway 1954 experience for all students. Technology & Customer Service: Manage the student organization registration process using Coastal Connections (Anthology Engage).Serve as a liaison to Anthology to ensure best practices in the use of Coastal Connection. Maximize the university's use of Coastal Connection. Model and promote exceptional customer service to all constituents, including faculty, staff, students, visitors, and the community. Risk & Process Management: Develop and maintain processes and policies related to risk management for student organizations. Review and revise the student organization registration process. Ensure student organizations have the necessary support to function effectively. Maintain contact with students to assess interest, respond to needs, and anticipate leadership and programming issues.Assessment & Strategic Planning: Develop strategic plans for the unit based on best practices and data. Direct assessment activities to guide budgeting decisions and program planning. Regularly assess and provide data on the unit's efforts and effectiveness. Analyze assessment data to inform updates to training and programming efforts. Utilize assessment to support the University Strategic Plan. Supervision & Administrative Oversight: Provide supervision and administrative oversight for the unit. Directly supervise the Coordinator for Student Organizations and Leadership. Recruit, train, and supervise student involvement specialists. Oversee the management of the Student Organization Resource Center, including facilities, employment, and resource management. Qualifications
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Previous student services experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's in student personnel management/higher and postsecondary education preferred. Experience working with student organizations, campus events, or leadership programs preferred. Experience leading a team as a supervisor/manager preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Sensitivity to the needs of all prospective students and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and counselors is expected. Excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills. Ability to work with a variety of constituents, solve problems quickly and professionally, anticipate needs, and communicate proactively. Knowledge about the college student experience, and how to communicate about that experience with parents and families. Excellent project management and time management skills. The ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines on an ongoing basis.
