Job Description: The Assistant Director of Admissions - Visit Experience plays a critical role in the recruitment and enrollment of first-year and transfer students. This full-time position is responsible for the management and enhancement of the campus visit program, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for all visitors. The role includes overseeing daily visit logistics, analyzing visitor feedback, and managing special admissions events, both virtually and on-campus. Additionally, the Assistant Director oversees the Champlain Admissions Ambassador program, including the hiring, mentoring, and supervising of student ambassadors.Significant Duties and Responsibilities Include:Manage the Campus Visit Program:
- Coordinate and process campus visit requests, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently.
- Oversee day-of-visit operations, ensuring a welcoming and smooth experience for all visitors.
- Collect, analyze, and report on visitor feedback to inform program enhancements.
Plan and Execute Special Admissions Events:
- Lead the planning, execution, and assessment of virtual and on-campus admissions events.
- Train, schedule, and support admissions staff involved in event operations.
Supervise the Admissions Ambassador Program:
- Recruit, hire, and mentor the Admissions Ambassador team.
- Provide ongoing training, scheduling, and performance feedback to ambassadors.
Engage and Support Visitors:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to prospective students and their families.
- Serve as a point of contact during visits and events, addressing questions and ensuring positive experiences.
Collaborate Across Departments:
- Work with other campus offices to align visit and event programming with institutional goals.
- Attend cross-departmental meetings and contribute to broader recruitment efforts.
Other Duties:
- Stay informed about Champlain College programs, policies, and industry trends.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the goals of the admissions office.
Requirements: Education:
- Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years in admissions or related experience.
- Experience in event planning preferred.
- Experience managing or supervising strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with virtual engagement tools such as Zoom, MS Teams, and CRM systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.
- Physical Demands, Working Conditions, and Legal Requirements:
- Requires extended periods of work on a computer screen.
- May require prolonged sitting during work hours.
- Frequent evening and weekend hours to support events and ambassador activities.
- Must be able to accommodate flexible scheduling to meet event demands.
