The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Grateful Clients for the University of Tennessee Institute for Agriculture (UTIA). Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni and Annual Giving, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Grateful Clients is responsible for developing and managing a Grateful Client annual giving program for units within UTIA that serve external communities such as the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
The purpose of this position is to develop strategies and opportunities to engage new donors from those who benefit from UTIA's programs and services. A key responsibility of this role will be to develop, launch, and manage a new initiative where grateful clients can recognize UTIA staff who provide exemplary service. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Annual Giving & Fundraising: Develop and manage direct mail appeals, special solicitations/new appeal programs, first time donor programs, and the Grateful Client program. Serve as the primary point-of-contact for the Big Orange Give campaign, UTIA's annual one-day of giving initiative, and the CVM's Family Campaign, focused on faculty and staff giving. Create annual campaign themes; set fundraising goals and track progress; and coordinate marketing (digital and traditional) and engagement efforts with UTIA and UTFI staff.
Telefund: Collaborate with annual giving and advancement team members to develop strategy and set annual goals for the telefund program. Strategic responsibilities include donor segmentation, planning outreach, and developing caller scripts/talk tracks for telefund workers.
Required Education and Experience
The candidate who fills the Assistant Director of Annual Giving for Grateful Clients position is required to have:
* Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years in fundraising, sales, non-profit experience, communications, event management, or similar work
* 1 years of supervisory experience required includes supervising student workers, volunteers and/or interns
* Basic computer skills (Word and Excel) and having a working knowledge of formula creation within Excel
* Creative writing experience; strong interpersonal skills; excellent communication skills
* Software experience such as: ACE (Salesforce) & iModules
A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required due to travel responsibilities of the position. UTFI reserves the right to consider all appropriate circumstances. In general, any significant driving offense less than 12 months old will eliminate the application from consideration for the position.
Note - Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 1 year of experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:
* Master's degree in business, communication, marketing or agriculture
* 4 years of experience in higher education development, philanthropy, sales, or non-profit
* 2 years of supervisory experience includes supervising student workers, volunteers and/or interns
* Experience with ACE (Salesforce) and/or iModules
