Job Posting:JR100736 Assistant Director of Housing (Open)Department:Housing & Residence Life Office, PMPosition Type:RegularOpen Date:12-20-2024Close Date:54,000Job Description:Coordinate the operations aspects of the HRL department by communicating daily with university's Physical Plant. Supervise the professional staff in the opening and closing of the residential facilities multiple times a year and the daily management of 12 residence halls housing 2300 students. Coordinate the transition of student housing to conference housing then back to student housing annually. Manage summer projects in the residence halls within the conference services schedule.Authority and AccountabilityPosition reports to the Director of Housing and Residence Life and has 4 professional level staff that report directly to the assistant on all matters regarding the physical operation of the residence halls which they manage housing 2300 undergraduate students. Supervises 1-2 Graduate Assistants and a student summer operations crew. Manages 3 different access control types for door access (Onity, Salto, hard keys) ensuring the safety and security of students and their belongings. This individual is the departmental liaison with physical plant staff (maintenance and housekeeping). Budgetary responsibilities include managing 3rd party contracts within the halls and overseeing the replacement schedule of furniture and amenities.Required/Minimum QualificationsCompleted masters required. 3-5 years of professional supervisory experience on a college campus or in an environment comparable to a university setting. Experience working to address student/client needs and concerns related to maintenance/housekeeping through a work order system. Experience working with security card access systems such as Salto, Onity or comparable systems. Ability to manage concurrent projects and exhibit strong organizational skills. Demonstrates a commitment and understanding for differing needs/concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures, and backgrounds.Preferred Qualifications 2-4 years of progressive residence life experience. Experience working in a dynamic 12-month university operation cycle transitioning from student occupancy during the academic year to auxiliary conference operation during the non-academic months. Working knowledge in Microsoft office (excel, word).
