Qualifications:
Must have a current RN license in good standing.
Ability to understand, remember and carry out oral or written instructions in English.
Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to be flexible and positive with intermittent interruptions.
Prior experience in long-term care/skilled nursing preferred.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for managing, directing, and supervising nursing services under the direction of the DON.
Defines and maintains the standards of nursing practice within the facility.
Participate in the On-Call rotation.
Assesses the quality of care rendered.
Responsible for staff performance.
Responsible for collaborating with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for improved patient care and staff development.
Must possess the ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze information and make recommendations to the physician as it relates to the health of the resident.
Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the facility.
Participates in appropriate meetings and committees.
Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members, and guests.
Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
Use appropriate workplace behavior and always adhere to the dress code.
Must clear the criminal background check, be in good standing with the Texas Misconduct Registry, and must not appear on the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.
Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines of nursing facility administration.
Must have basic computer skills or the ability to learn.
