Responsibilities

The Assistant Director of Rapid Rehousing will support the overall development, and programmatic operation of Rapid Rehousing programs at Rising Ground. The Rapid Rehousing programs at Rising Ground serve young adults between the ages of 18 - 24 and seek to prevent homelessness among young people, providing services and support that lead to successful independent living. This role requires an in depth understanding of the issues that impact diverse young adult populations and the barriers they face in finding and maintaining housing. The Assistant Director will provide leadership and oversight to case management and housing staff while ensuring the highest quality of service delivery and supporting a culture of trauma informed care and staff well-being.

What You'll Do

* Assist RRH (rapid rehousing) Director in managing day-to-day operations of the Rapid Rehousing Program

* Assist RRH Director in Overseeing the recruitment and hiring of RRH staff

* Provide effective regular supervision, including on-going professional development, to case managers, housing specialist, employment specialist, and peer advocates

* Assist RRH Director in Assessment of youth for eligibility for the program

* Collaborate with the quality assurance department, to ensure effective efficient service delivery. Support and participates in agency audit preparations and execution.

* Assist the Director in providing fiscal oversight ensuring fiscal sustainability and accountability.

* Reviews and audit case records to ensure both internal and external quality assurance standards.

* Uses data to support decision making

* Ensure youth receive effective case management, mentoring and support to live independently.

* Assist RRH Director in Coordinating finance, data collection and evaluation of program

* Assist RRH Director in Preparing Monthly, Quarterly, & Annual Reports

* Maintain compliance with funding mandates

* Attend NYCCOC meetings, youth sub-committee meetings and Internal agency meetings to represent the program

* Works with RRH Director to develop and evaluate the program

* Conducts presentations as needed and as assigned

* Performs all other program and position duties as delegated

Qualifications

* Master's Degree in relevant field required

* Minimum 5 years' experience working in community-based programs serving youth; experience working to address youth homelessness preferred

* Knowledge of housing options and programs available to youth required

* Experience working with diverse youth populations including runaway and homeless youth

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

* Experience with public speaking, presentations and/or training diverse groups preferred

Work Environment:

This position will primarily be based at Rising Ground's Jamaica Queens office 91-14 Merrick Blvd Jamaica NY 11432 with occasional travel to other Rising Ground sites, and field work as needed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 35 hours weekly

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday (some evenings or weekends may be needed).

Additional Requirements:

* Authorized to work in the U.S.

* Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week.

* Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)
